M4H was once one of the largest fruit ports in the world, where the storage and transshipment of various fruits took place on a daily basis. This former fruit harbor is currently being transformed into a new living and working area as a new district, nearby the city center of Rotterdam.

Now this port area is slowly changing into a new working and residential part of the city. A diversity of activities is located in the area. It is part of the M4H Makers District, 'The Makers District', consisting of the RDM Rotterdam and Merwe-Vierhavens (M4H) areas, is perfect for young companies that can grow into large established companies.

A dynamic area

Just around the corner the City Harbor beer brewery is located for good food and Friday afternoon drinks, or any day of the week, if you prefer. Also the harbour taxi has its stop just a 100 metres from the building. A fast and atractive connection to the city center or Hotel New York, for instance.

At 200 metres, a 3 minutes walk, from the entrance of the building the metro-line to Rotterdam Central and Schiedam train station is located. The access to the A20 is within 1.5 km, making the location very well accessible by own and public transport.

Merwe4Haven

M4H continues to accommodate different creators
The Makers District will be the place in the region for the innovative manufacturing industry. Here the transition to the new economy of port and city is put into practice. The area is perfect for such a development. Young companies can grow into large, established companies. Young people are introduced to technology. New technologies are not only invented, but also tested and applied.

They are visible to everyone. The area is simultaneously the breeding ground, testing ground and showcase for the circular economy of the future for the entire region. Collectivity forms the basis for circularity: knowledge, space and flows are shared in physical and digital networks.
